WAKING UP AT 3AM
Our day started really early, waking up at 3am when we met at McAllister County Park in Port Jefferson, NY at 5 in the morning. Our goal for this bohemian inspired shoot was to capture it during the sunrise. The park is a lovely inlet protected from the wind of the Long Island sound, and significant in what all brides are going through at this time: learning how to navigate with all the new COVID-19 regulations and reinventing their big day.
CLIMBING THE DUNES
We won’t forget the long 20 minutes it took for us to pull all our equipment along the beach to get to the other side where the dunes and hills were. We laughed, faced harsh winds and encouraged each other along the way, all metaphors for what the bridal industry is going through. But we produced beautiful imagery out of the storm. We knew it was worth it because the beach had such incredible views. Not only for the moments we were going to capture but just to be there admiring the beauty of nature was amazing. While Melissa from Lunaluxe Events, started to prepare the table Thalia began to photograph the model on top of the dunes. It felt otherworldly being so high up and hearing the waves crashing against the shore, it was definitely a moment to remember.
OUR BOHEMIAN STYLE
Our inspiration for this specific bohemian style came from a love for the boho chic bride that you don’t normally see. The location was also a perfect setting for our bridal styled shoot as Jhene Aiko played during setup. The concept was to bring peace to all the brides who are left to re-imagining their weddings. The big day may look different, but it can be unique, beautiful and all you! These images give us a mental breather and excitement on what’s next to come.
