Long Island Coffee House Engagement Shoot in Babylon – Lena & Mike

One of my favorite parts about engagement photography is finding ways to infuse my couples’ personalities! For Lena and Michael, they really wanted some coffee house engagement photography at their favorite spot, Jack Jacks Coffeehouse. When I asked them about their relationship, this is what they had to say:

“We’re introverts and high school sweethearts who have known each other for most of our lives. We like playing board games together, going out to bars, trying new coffee, and supporting each other’s creative ventures/respective hobbies. We’ve been described as a “power couple”, which I interpret as we’re both busy and ambitious in our individual careers and enjoy supporting each other in that. We compliment each other well—Mike studied to be a mechanical engineer and is very analytic/level-minded; Lena studied to be an artist/graphic designer and is “big dreamer” creative. Communication is a really big part of our relationship and because of that we always feel super comfortable with each other—we’re best friends!”

I really enjoyed my time together with Lena and Michael. It was my first time meeting them in person and it felt like we’ve known each other forever. We chatted and connected the whole time which I really appreciate. I’m extremely proud of the photos we took together. There’s so much love and sweetness in every photo. Having them visit the coffee shop they would always study in was important to incorporate as they felt right at home there.
