Having an adventure session with a couple for their engagement shoot is always so special. They love being outdoors so naturally they picked a hiking trail. We drove together to Minnewaska State Park and got to know each other a bit more on that drive. In just under 2 hours we made it and made our way inside the park. We loved seeing the waterfall and the autumn foliage among the trees. We ended the shoot on top of the waterfall and it was an amazing view. They mentioned they are introverted, but you would never have guessed that from their photos. They both feel very awkward in front of the camera, and usually don’t love their picture being taken. Mary also said “at the same time, we are both very goofy. Steve is the most silly, and we love to laugh and have a good time.”
I pride myself in getting to know a couple and find out what makes them come alive to bring that out in the photos we take. Even introverted couples who don’t like being in front of the camera, I always find a way to make them comfortable and just have them focus on each other rather than my camera.
