The other day as I was waking up, my aunt caught me off guard with a question. She asked me, “Let’s have breakfast, what’s around here?” Usually I would suggest IHOP or a diner..but that day I was honestly kind of tired of going to those same places. I wanted to try something new! So I got my handy dandy phone, because I have a phone I can look it up* (inside joke) haha. I went on the maps app and searched nearby coffee shops/breakfast. I found this little place called Flour Shoppe, located right here in Rockville Centre only 10 minutes away from where I live!
It was really cute y’all. I could tell it’s popular because it was a little busy and the cashiers were killing it with taking every order quickly. It’s the type of place that you seat yourself and order up front.
I ordered the home fries with the french toast that had fresh berries, chocolate ganache, whipped cream, and pure maple syrup. I’ve had great french toast before, and this one has been added to that list! The chocolate was so rich, the toast itself was soft and so delightful with every bite. The home fries were yummy too, I threw in some ketchup and it was even greater. Oh and to top it all off, we sat outside 🙂 It always gives a different feel to sit outside, I love it!
My aunt ordered the croque madame which had country ham, aged cheddar, toasted sourdough bread, mornay, chives, and fried egg. I didn’t try what my aunt had but she did say that it tasted good and the lemonade she had was refreshing!
Let me know if you try this place, I’d love to talk more about the french toast 🙂
xoxo
