Maria and Christopher’s New York Wedding

Still swooning over this Spring New York wedding. Maria and Christopher were originally supposed to get married in August of 2020. Given the circumstances, they were forced to reschedule to May of this year. Like many couples, pushing out their wedding was not an ideal situation. However, a priority to them was to put health and safety first.

Maria had talked to me about the stress of planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic, especially in one of the cities with the highest COVID rates. So to honor their original wedding date and to give some joy amongst the chaos, I sent the couple an e-gift card to Bark Box on August 14, 2020! They had just brought a little puppy into their family during COVID. I wanted to give them a treat to celebrate their original wedding date!

It’s been a hard past 2 years for many wedding couples. As a wedding photographer, I want to do my best to support them in the planning process.

East Wind Long Island Wedding Venue

East Wind Long Island is an upscale wedding venue located in Wading River, New York. It has elegant indoor and outdoor spaces. I was amazed to see a variety of locations on the property itself where couples can hold both intimate and grand weddings. They have places like The Estate, The Cottage, The Veranda and many more. Maria and Christopher’s wedding held their reception at The Estate location. What’s even greater is that The Estate at East Wind offers a one wedding at a time rule. The place is all yours and the staff has your undivided attention!

The outdoors is an experience on its own. There’s a beautiful garden path where the couple can walk down for photos. An arbor that leads to a Victorian gazebo. Even a waterfall!

This New York wedding had its cocktail hour in the gorgeous glass-walled space. The reception room also did not fall short. Very spacious with big tall windows that are picturesque and let in a lot of natural light, a photographer’s dream! Most importantly a huge dance floor for all your loved ones to party on.

A Spring Wedding in New York

“April showers sure do bring May flowers”. For anyone that lives in the big apple knows what the Spring weather and scenery hold for us. Weddings in May are beautiful as the flowers are blooming! Especially the flowers that grow first on the trees. They really stand out as a scenic backdrop. Some even say the weather is most ideal around this time. It’s not as hot yet so bearable enough for those doing an outdoor New York wedding.
